Our Philosophy
At Sheltr Canada’s Support Spaces, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where women, trans, and non-binary individuals can find support, empowerment, and belonging.
We build this environment by:
Ensuring minimal barriers to accessing our services
Viewing each individual through a trauma-informed lens
Recognizing that every person requires a unique set of supports and resources
Meeting basic needs first so individuals can focus on future goals
Taking a harm reduction approach to help individuals stay safe and supported
Sharing tools, resources, and information that empower informed decision-making
Providing a variety of creative and social activities that foster growth and connection
Offering a compassionate, non-judgmental ear for those who need to be heard
We strive to ensure our spaces respect diversity, embrace differences, and encourage people to build strong communities of care and empowerment together.
