Board Member – Volunteer Position
Term: 3 Years, Maximum of 2 Terms | Position Available: 1
Sheltr Canada is seeking a volunteer Board Member with experience or understanding of issues such as homelessness, domestic and intimate partner violence, addictions, or mental health.
Our Board of Directors operates under a policy governance model, providing leadership in advocating for community change and influencing government policies that improve the welfare, health, and social functioning of the people we serve.
Board Members represent the organization’s members in ensuring effective organizational performance. They are accountable to members, key stakeholders, and the community, and are expected to stay informed about and connected to our programs and services. The Board develops and reviews governing policies, ensures implementation of the Strategic Plan, and maintains a strong relationship with the Executive Director.

Women’s Services – Inasmuch House – Residential Client Advocate
Schedule: Nights | Full Time | Permanent
The Residential Client Advocate supports women-identified individuals and their dependents experiencing abuse or homelessness. Advocates provide a safe space, client-centered support, and trauma-informed care while respecting each woman’s self-determination.

Men’s Services – Shelter Support Worker
Schedule: Weekends, Nights | Part-Time Contract
Shelter Support Workers provide practical support and advocacy to service users from a client-centered, trauma-informed, harm reduction, and anti-oppressive perspective.

Women’s Services – Inasmuch House – Residential Client Advocate (Relief)
Schedule: Flexible Availability | Multiple Positions
These relief positions provide client-centered support for women-identified individuals and their dependents experiencing abuse or homelessness. Advocates work with a trauma-informed, anti-racist, anti-oppressive approach, while supporting each individual’s autonomy and safety.
