Supportive Housing

Addiction Supportive Housing (ASH)

Through the Addiction Supportive Housing program (ASH), Mission Services partners with the Canadian Mental Health Association to provide rental units in the community for people who:

  • Are homeless or inadequately housed

  • Are attending or have graduated from an addiction recovery program

Alongside safe housing, Mission Services staff provide compassionate, supportive care to help residents achieve their recovery goals and remain stably housed.

Housing UP!

Launched in April 2020, Housing UP! is a Housing First program for single homeless men, funded by the City of Hamilton.

The program supports individuals experiencing episodic or chronic homelessness by helping them secure safe, affordable, and stable housing in the Hamilton community.

Our Approach:

  • Housing UP! adheres to evidence-based best practices of Housing First

  • Case Managers provide ongoing support after housing is secured, helping participants transition to independent living

  • Services include connections to healthcare, recovery programs, life skills, and community resources

Housing UP! is a key partner in Hamilton’s coordinated access system and plays an important role in the city-wide effort to end homelessness.

Our Philosophy:

  • At Mission Services, we believe housing is just the beginning.

Through collaboration with community partners, agencies, and families, we support individuals in:

    • Finding and maintaining appropriate housing

    • Achieving personal goals and recovery

    • Building relationships and capacity

    • Reconnecting with family when possible

    Our trauma-informed, client-centered approach emphasizes:

    • Empowerment and independence

    • Ongoing support and encouragement

    • Respect for individual choice

    • Belief in second chances

We are committed to helping men not only secure housing but also rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
