Sheltr Canada Food Services
At Sheltr Canada, we are committed to providing our community with healthy, nutritious food that supports physical and emotional wellbeing. To help us meet this goal, we kindly ask that all food donations focus on items with high nutritional value and avoid foods high in salt or low in nutrients, such as chips and candy.
Please note that we do not accept used clothing, household items, or furniture, except during the winter months when gently used coats and boots are welcomed.
We gladly accept donations of:
Food and baby formula
Diapers (most needed sizes: 3, 4, and 5)
Hygiene items, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant, and toilet paper

Our Philosophy
We believe that every person has the right to safe and nutritious food. Sheltr Canada provides culturally sensitive meals while offering choice wherever possible. We serve our community with dignity, compassion, and integrity, maintaining privacy and respect at all times.
Beyond meals, we offer referrals, support, and advocacy in a nonjudgmental manner to help reduce poverty, food insecurity, and homelessness. Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where all who seek assistance feel respected and empowered.
The Good Food Principles, developed by Community Food Centres Canada, inspire our work. These principles guide organizations across the country in addressing poverty and food insecurity while fostering collaboration and shared learning. Sheltr Canada is proud to be a Good Food Organization member, regularly evaluating our programs to ensure we uphold these principles.
