Ending Homelessness, Empowering Lives

We’re a non-profit social service organization in Canada, dedicated to ending homelessness and poverty while creating safe spaces for people to find stability, heal, and grow.

Our Mission Statement

Restoring hope and empowering individuals to rebuild their lives and move toward a brighter future.

Our Vision

We envision a strong and thriving community that is compassionate, inclusive, and full of hope.

Our Values

We are dedicated to and guided by these core values:

Land Acknowledgement

Sheltr Canada acknowledges that the land on which we live and work is located on the traditional territories of the [insert specific Indigenous nations relevant to your service area], covered by historic treaties and agreements that continue to guide our responsibilities as caretakers of this land. We honour the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, which reminds us of our shared responsibility to care for the land and resources in peace and friendship.
We also recognize the enduring presence of Indigenous Peoples across Turtle Island and acknowledge the ongoing impacts of colonization, including the legacy of the Residential School System. We are committed to creating safe, inclusive, and respectful spaces for Indigenous individuals in our communities.
As part of our mission, we stand in solidarity with the movement for justice for Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people, as well as for all Indigenous, Transgender, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Queer individuals.

We support the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and we strive to integrate these principles into our mission of ending homelessness and poverty in Canada.
